The word SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. The most important benefit of SEO is that it helps your business achieve an online presence by ranking higher in the Search Engine Result Page, or what we call SERP thus drawing more visitors to your website.

You do not want to create a website and let it sit unnoticed. The possibility of drawing lots of visitors is high when effective SEO puts your website in the top 10 or 20 web results of popular search engines. When people look for the information they need, they will choose more likely from the list being shown on the first page of results. If the rank of your website is high, it will be much easier to find translating into increased traffic.

If you are using your website to promote a product or services, SEO can help you generate more sales by improving your site’s ability to sell. For example, if your website promotes wellness products, one sure way toward SEO is to write articles that talk about topics like exercise, healthy foods, managing stress, etc. that can be threaded to the wellness products you are selling. The objective of functional SEO is not only to promote your pitch, but also offer useful information so that potential customers will keep on coming back.

SEO is cost effective too. You may advertise your business with Google, which charge per click. There are also pay-per-click plans that are known to some. However, most often than not, website owners do not gain profit that much and in some cases, lose out. With SEO, you get an affordable technique with long lasting results – guaranteed!

If you are thinking of redesigning your website, or intending to launch a new one, then now is the best time to hire an SEO. You and your SEO can make sure that your website is made to be “search engine friendly”.

The 2010 election in the Philippines was a success if we are going to talk about the integrity of the whole electoral process. The automation helped a lot in bringing back the trust of the majority of the Filipinos in COMELEC (Commission on Election).

Although some violence related incidents were still there, I could say that the 2010 election in the Philippines in general proved to be the cleanest among the elections I witnessed in my entire life. As technology advances, so did the way we do the recent election. COMELEC employed the power and convenience that automation promised to deliver to the electoral process.

The line up of the presidential aspirants was very exciting - a former president, a son of the former president, several senators, a secretary of national defense, a church leader, and at least two newbies in the arena.

Each one of them tried to best out each other from campaign sorties to commercial advertisements in print and in media. Filipinos heard different jingles each with stories to tell. Several of them did boast of being poor during their childhood days as if it is one of the requirements of becoming a good president. They gave Filipinos a good entertainment!

It only took me 3 minutes to complete my voting and I spent the rest of May 10, 2010 at home watching the news on TV and waited for the names of the winners to be announced.

Although my bet did not win, I am still happy knowing that in this 2010 election in the Philippines, I was a part of it.
